Mac OSX universal failure

Hi Folks,
I have been looking at building fat libraries on the OSX 10.5.8 intel, and have 
uncovered a software problem in ‘fp.c’ which selects intel x86 when building 
for ppc64 on intel machines.  I think this might also be a problem building for 
ARM on a modern intel Mac.  I have submitted a bug report in Macports and 
attached a patch for the ppc64 case.  Please see

Macports have asked me to report it here, as it is a source code problem.
