I was just attempting to install goops 0.1.8, and it quickly dies in
compilation unable to find a definition for the type scm_bits_t. And I can't
blame it, because the version of guile I have here, 1.3.4, does not contain the
string scm_bits_t in any file. I can't find any mention of this problem in
the archives of this mailing list, though I see scm_bits_t appears in patches,
so its existence seems to be taken for granted. Can anyone fill me in about
what this type is, where it's supposed to be defined, and/or what version of
goops works with what version of guile?
This is on a Slackware 4.0 Linux system.
