FYI, the reason nobody else has noticed this yet is probably because once you build the preceding commit successfully, if you checkout the master branch and then run "make" without cleaning the build artifacts first, make will succeed. This is probably because make thinks the relevant files are up to date. However, if you try to build from a clean checkout, it will fail.
