How can this be reproduced, outside Geiser?  I tried:

  ./pre-inst-env sh -c 'GUILE_LOAD_PATH=$PWD/:$GUILE_LOAD_PATH guix build 
icecat -n'

with an explicit trailing slash, but it doesn’t trigger the problem.
