bug#51098: Garbled output on 'guix lint' while fetching CVE database

Hello Guix,

Recently I'm seeing the following when using 'guix lint':

fetching CVE database for 2021...ve]...

This seems to happen always, or at least most of the time.  It's fairly
recent.
