Hi Mathieu, Could you test your hypothesis by manually editing (as root) your /boot/grub/grub.cfg file and rebooting?
And where is your keymap located? If it's in your encrypted root file system, that would be another reason why GRUB has to prompt for your LUKS passphrase before your keymap can be loaded.
