thanks a lot for your response which I forwarded to the macports people. I
hope
they can sort this out finally.
in the meantime I found I workaround somewhere which is to copy XKeysymDB
from /usr/X11R6/X11/share to /opt/local/share (macports keeps all the
installed
stuff in /opt/local, not /usr/local). after this the warnings go away and
all keybindings work.
what I do not understand: I've got the impression that the _presence_ of
XKeysymDB is no longer desirable (?) or that the apLineDel line in that
file causes the problems (?).
now in the XKeysymDB file I've copied as described above I see this line:
apLineDel :1000FF00
could someone please clarify what's going on (or give a a good link where
it
can be found)?
