Out of curiosity: Which of the "basic CORBA services" do you need that
are still missing, and what do you need them for?

Hmm. If you want to use C, you'll have to use the C mapping, whether
you like it or not (you could define an alternative C mapping, but it
would not be much simpler). If you don't want to use the C mapping,
what is then the problem with using C++?
