I don't notice the issue with ghc on 32b, but possibly that's simply
because the compiler doesn't emit sse instructions, and the libc calls
optimized with sse are not often enough for ghc to break.
Both my test code and the same stress-ng invocation work correctly on 32
bit without any error reports.
