Put another way: what happened is that pere on #debian-hurd just gave up porting onetbb because he couldn't boot the current pre-installed image or installer with virt-manager. And no, he couldn't easily run qemu because he didn't have the disk space locally to do so. While we can't be testing all virtualization solution and combination options, we can at least avoid explicitly assuming some hardware availability and make things more portable when it's easy to.
