Hi, Is there a convenient way to get the passive translator info on a file? Currently you can use setxattr to set a translator but then trying to get back the info fails because getxattr opens the port with no flags.
A workaround is using the mach port api directly same as showtrans but it feels a bit asymmetric that getxattr/setxattr operate on different ports after the translator is set. I guess for the same reason you cannot change an existing translator with setxattr. Is that intentional? I am not sure how this should interact with the gnu.author xattr. Thanks, Y.
