Hey Hurd people! I follow OpenBSD development for fun, and there is an interesting new filesystem proposal: good enough fs (gefs), which is a "crash-safe, snapshotting, copy on write FS". It might become the default filesystem on Plan9. The developer uses his gefs to create a snapshot every 5 mintues, which seems pretty cool.
Apparently it's 9,000 lines of C code in the kernel. The license is MIT. Maybe a port to the Hurd would be worthwhile ? https://undeadly.org/cgi?action=article;sid=20260918115729 the gefs paper is here: https://orib.dev/gefs.pdf Thanks, Joshua
