Hello everyone, I am currently working on establishing a robust unit testing suite for the httpfs translator using cmocka and Autotools.
The goal is to isolate the core internal logic (such as DNS resolution via lookup_host, network connection setup, and HTML parsing) to ensure reliability and facilitate refactoring. While the build system integration (Autotools, pkg-config) and the test runner skeleton are fully operational, I have hit a hurdle regarding the cmocka mocking mechanism for gethostbyname/lookup_host interactions where test queues encounter synchronization issues (count != 0) I am sharing this initial patch set to gather feedback from maintainers on the best practices for mocking network/Hurd system calls within our test environment, or if there's a cleaner way to handle interposition via linker wrapping in this specific context. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Best regards, Gianluca
