Hi,
I have cross compiled the latest inetutils.

i got the executables. i placed them in /usr/sbin directory and
    booted the board.

now i mounted an nfs file system on which the executables are there.

    i created 2 files /etc/inetd.conf and /etc/services which contains
the usually entries.

   the entries are correct.

   now i run /usr/sbin/inetd start

the process is sleeping i can see using ps.

ok. now i killed the process inetd.

i rebooted my board, downloaded kernel and mounted nfs file system.

now i go to /usr/sbin directory

  # cd /usr/sbin
 .# ./ftpd
 #

nothing happens ; ftpd exits. i cant find ftpd when i do ps -eal

  same thing for telnetd.

i dont know what is happening.

what files i must creat to make it work.

my root file system is basic.

the clients work. no problem. i can connect to remote system and work.

both ftp and telnet work. no issues.

   the servers dont work.

  what could be wrong.

kindly let me know the steps.

my file system is a basic file system. i am building filesytem for
my board ARM processor.

 Please Advice.

Regards,
John
