Oh, I meant "on linux" -- that specific part is linux-specific.  I do
actually know this software is still in use generally.

(But thinking in terms of cross-compilation, yes, it's a good idea to
remove such stuff.  Even if that particular section is far from being
cross-compile-friendly.)
