When you experience this issue, please go to the build directory and type ./libtool --version My guess is: this error is not from an 1.5.x release of Libtool (they contain no reference to S_IXOTH), but from a CVS snapshot where this bug lived for a while. Tell the author to use a newer CVS version/snapshot. If you are writing the software yourself: update Libtool and re-libtoolize your package with the newer version.
