While compiling the latest 1.6 -cvs from scratch using
$ ./autogen.sh
and immediately after that invoking (gcc 2.96, Mandrake 7.2)
$ make all
I get the following trace (the end of which is shown)
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lltdl
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [out/lilypond] Error 1
rm out/lexer.cc out/parser.cc
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/lilypond/lily'
make: *** [all] Error 2
What was wrong with the program
$ ld --version
GNU ld version 2.11.92.0.12 20011121
