This is all very mysterious. I want to stress this point: If I run ly2dvi -P there is no problem. It is when I try running it through lilypond-book that additional fonts are generated and strange looking output occurs.
If I start by running the clean-fonts.sh script and then run ly2dvi there are fonts generated and the PS file appears in gv. No problem. If I then run it through lilypond-book, metafont is called and fonts are generated (???). Then gv displays the garbage I've described before. Other information: When I update from CVS I see this line go by; M lilypond/buildscripts/clean-fonts.sh I don't know what the 'M' means. I mention it because it may be a clue (or not). Also, there are two clean-fonts.sh scripts in my CVS. In addition to the "regular" one there is: clean-fonts.sh.~1.8.~ Which is set to "read only". Looking at where I find feta *.tfm files I see that there is /usr/local/share/lilypond/1.7.28/fonts/tfm/ /usr/local/.....is not mentioned in clean-fonts.sh. Does this matter? I'm quite willing to dump my Lilypond source, clean out all Lilypond font references and start over with a fresh checkout if necessary. -David _______________________________________________ Bug-lilypond mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-lilypond
