I wish to report an apparent bug in tremolos constructed with stems pointing in opposite directions: a \stemUp or \stemDown command (and, I assume, a \stemBoth command) causes LilyPond to add erroneous beams to the tremolo, one erroneous beam per directive, as well as give the tremolo an erroneous time-value.
