It's not about duration numbers, it's about durations: 8. is one duration,
8
is a different duration. So if you switch from 8 to 8., you need to re-type
the entire duration.
Ok fair enough, I hadn't thought of it like that. I guess I'm used to other
music software where you first set a "base duration" (like crotchet, quaver
etc), then if you need to a dot a particular note, you just select the dot
function.
