The short answer is - Start a command prompt
- Change directory to the folder where you have the files
- Run the command
convert-ly -e myfile.ly
The long answer is that convert-ly probably won't be able to handle
all the necessary conversions, at least if the scores use some more
advanced features. This means that you have to do some manual
modifications. The most difficult of doing that is mostly to try to
figure out what the intention of the original code was.

Quoting Haymo van Wyk <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
I'm still running Windows 98SE, and have successfully installed version 2.6.5
Some *.ly files downloaded from (previously )Icking Archive - now
Mutopia, are
still in Version 1.5.63.
Question: How do I use convert-ly.py to convert these files to
version 2.6.5 ?
Please supply exact instructions.
If it is NOT possible to do so in Win98SE, please supply the
instructions how to do it in Linux / Unix, and which flavour of these to use.
Thank you,
Haymo van Wyk
