Check again what file you actually clicked on when you dragged it
to the LilyPond icon. It looks as if you have tried to drag the
installation program onto icon, not your music file.
When you read the Tutorial, you will also learn that the file can be
processed by just double-clicking on it instead of
dragging it onto the LilyPond icon.

Hey,
Just downloaded Lily Pond and I'm having a little trouble installing it.
Actually the message says that it is installed but when I try to run it by
saving the lilypond file to the desktop and dragging it to the lilypond icon
no welcome message comes up; just a notepad which says...

If you could let me know what I'm doing wrong that would be great.
Thanks,
Devon
