Well, It's useful for notating guitar music. There isn't any other way
I know of, for doing this, for example:

You want to tie a group of four 16th grace notes (c e g b) -belonging
to one voice-, to the next chord. That can be done thanks to the
recent feature "tie wait for note", but if the chord is divided in 2
voices (very common) What happens? That cannot be done.

Many music for guitar (specially classical and harmonized jazz) is
written using several voices. The feature of flexibly tie between
voices would be useful.
