I used a clean install of 10.5 and a clean install of Fink 0.27.7. All
compiled without a problem. There is a
fontconfig error on run
Fontconfig error: Cannot load config file "/etc/fonts/fonts.conf"
Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file
but it has no effect (as far as I can tell) on output.
MacPorts is currently no go - Guile (a) is still at 1.8.1 and (b)
doesn't compile anywyay
