Dear All, I am a Schenkerian theorist and wanting to use lilypad for use in illustrating graphs. The software is touted as being perfect for this function, but it is nearly impossible for me to get it to do anything. Would anyone who knows how to use lilypond well living in the New York City area (I'm on the Upper East Side) be willing to personally tutor me in working with the program? I would be willing to pay a reasonable fee by-the-hour. Things you should know: 1) I run a basically brand-new Windows Vista fully-loaded laptop. 2) I am good with standard applications on a Windows computer, but I am by no means acquainted with the kind of computer science typing needed to use lilypond. In other words, I can do everything on Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, fix minor problems using the Control Panel, etc, but I'm totally stumped by instructions on the lilypond site. They aren't too helpful and produce a bunch of problems that I simply can't resolve with my working knowledge of computers. 3) We can decide on an appropriate fee pending your specific response. I hope you will consider my offer. Please respond promptly.Alexander T.
