Issue 504: lilypond broken on osx 10.5 x86
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=504
Comment #40 by trevorbaca:
Just upgraded to 10.5.2 today and I can reproduce tinuviel874's results
in #32,
above. Specifically, I'm running an Intel MacBook under 10.5.2 and I
get the
following results.
Running
/Applications/LilyPond.app/Contents/Resources/bin/lilypond
with 2.11.39 MacOS X (Intel) from http://lilypond.org/web/install/ generates ...
-bash: /Applications/LilyPond.app/Contents/Resources/bin/lilypond:
cannot execute
binary file
... as an error.
BUT, downloading 2.11.39 MacOS X (G3, G4, G5 Macs) version from
http://lilypond.org/web/install/ runs just fine from the commandline as
/Applications/LilyPond.app/Contents/Resources/bin/lilypond
Also, as tinuviel874 points out in #36, the first run does indeed take longer,
presumably to rebuild the font cache; subsequent runs are much faster.
Note, however, that, unlike #36, calling the commandline binary from
within a helper
script works fine on my end; no need to adjust PATH and so on.
CONCLUSION: I have an Intel MacBook and I'm able to run the 2.11.39 G3
/ G4 / G5
precompiled binary from http://lilypond.org/web/install/ just fine.
Running the GUI
does not yet work.
