The Debussy piece you are quoting is a very special case and is not
what I have in
mind at all. However, the solution with 2 half-ties is something I can
live with --
and for chords it might be even a better solution, avoiding a lot of
ugly ties.
BTW, allowing non-horizontal ties solves issue 461 too...
