This is a little tricky to solve. The problem is that the "edge" of the bracket is not counted towards that bracket's Y-extent. It's easy enough to include it but that
would cause problems when the "edge" is pointing towards the staff: the larger
Y-extent would force the bracket too far away from the staff.

A possible solution would be to use skylines instead of extent boxes to position
grobs, but that could be a very invasive and difficult change.
