With all due respect, I don't regard all \paper variables, like
between-system-

tweaks.
Most of them don't seem to have any effect any more, so anyone adjusting the
vertical layout using a \paper block will be left out in the cold. So,
that's
probably the majority of scores, which will have broken vertical layout...
If you deem that acceptable, then we can certainly also break the
seldom-used text
\cresc commands without proper convert-ly rule.
