Whenever this issue gets fixed, Issue 714 will have to be closed as well.

Have had to revert to plan B to implement the original request (see
trackers 404/714) and use bespoke functions and parser variables.
\bookOutputSuffix to set a suffix for the output filename in the current
\book block. (This sets new parser variable book-output-suffix).
\bookOutputName to set the output filename for the current book block
(This sets new parser variable book-filename).
Scheme procedure print-book-with and the procedures it calls are
modified to look at the new parser variables in addition to the old ones.
I will shortly post a patch on frogs and -devel for comments.
