There's nothing wrong with the regtest (apart from the lack of \new Voice
to correct
the size of the rests); if it broke, there would be a tie between the two
notes (even
though there's a rest between them).
See the attached image, which is compiled with 2.8.8.
The problem with the proposed replacement snippet is unrelated: since
\cueDuring
always creates a CueVoice with quoted-context-id = "cue", both cues use the
same
context, allowing the tie to run from one quote to the other.
