Okay, if I understand correctly, this change was made on purpose so that
the double
bar lines used in the new "varsegno" bar line will align correctly with
SpanBar grobs
in multiple staff cases?
Though this change to regular BarLines was made with good intentions, I
personally
think that the double bar lines, on their own, now have legibility issues.
That is,
they are hard to read.
IMO, this needs some special handling so that by default, the old double
bar lines
are used, and that the "narrower" double bars only appear when combined
with varsegno
bar lines.
