Could you extend "Completion_heads_engraver" to drums, or maybe better create a "Completion_heads_engraver"-like that, when replacing "Drum_notes_engraver", would convert automatically long (drum) notes to tied notes? Maybe something like "Completion_drum_heads_engraver".
