i agree but only in part. i don't agree with this:
"It would be better if ottavation markings only affected a single voice
(and if they are intended to apply to a stave, then the marking should be
duplicated in each voice and then only shown in one)."
i think that somehow the ottava mark should behave differently when applied
to a staff or to a voice.
