Interesting new info. I changed the file to eliminate leger lines.

Repeated 12 times.
The first 9 scores fit 8 measures on a line.
The 10th score put 4 measures on a line.
The 11th score put 2 measures on the first 2 lines, then 1 measure per line
for the next 4 lines.
The 12th score put 1 measure per line for 8 lines (and wrapped onto an
extra page).
I don't know if this provides any clues, but it was certainly not expected
by me.
