I discussed this with Reinhold, and he replied:
"Yes, I changed the docs to be compiled on my office machine now. I simply
haven't set up running the linkchecker there yet."
and then:
"I'm definitely planning on setting up the linkchecker again, I just didn't
have the time yet. So, I think the link can be kept."
so I think that all that's required is a note to this effect in the CG.
