Comment #4 on issue 1059 by [email protected]: left-over strings in bibliography
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=1059

FWIW simply deleting the entries causes an error in the build - it seems that the bibliography generator needs an indexing term as the first entry. Looks like I will have to put something reasonably sensible on the first term of each reference. The error looks like this:

BSTINPUTS=/home/phil/lilypond-git/Documentation/essay /home/phil/lilypond-git/build/scripts/build/out/bib2texi \
                -o ./out-www/colorado.itexi \
                /home/phil/lilypond-git/Documentation/essay/colorado.bib
Invoking `TEXMFOUTPUT=/tmp bibtex /tmp/tmpPKmloUbib2texi'
This is BibTeX, Version 0.99c (TeX Live 2009/Debian)
The top-level auxiliary file: /tmp/tmpPKmloUbib2texi.aux
The style file: texi-long.bst
Database file #1: /home/phil/lilypond-git/Documentation/essay/colorado.bib
I was expecting a `,' or a `}'---line 6 of file /home/phil/lilypond-git/Documentation/essay/colorado.bib
 : @book{author
 :              = {Jacob, Archibald},
I'm skipping whatever remains of this entry
