If we want to keep the new vertical-spacing concept -- spacing staves
first, and then placing non-staffs in between -- then we need these
warnings.
The warning text could be much better. I suggest as desired behavior that
the warning be :
_("two adjacent non-staff lines are set to be spaced relative to a staff
between them, but there is none; need to change staff-affinity.")
That message hopefully points the way to the solution
\new Lyrics \with { \override VerticalAxisGroup #'staff-affinity = ##f }
