this doesn't look like a gub proiblem
$ make -n out/collated-files.tely
/home/hanwen/vc/lilypond/scripts/build/out/lys-to-tely
--name=./out/collated-files.tely --title="LilyPond Regression Tests"
--author="Han-Wen Nienhuys and Jan Nieuwenhuizen"
AAA-intro-regression.tely[lots of .ly files]
this could be fixed rather simply by having lys-to-tely take a directory
argument. lys-to-tely could then do the grobbing inside python
