Well, I now see the opposite in the current manual. Cf.
http://lilypond.org/doc/v2.15/Documentation/notation/displaying-pitches#automatic-accidentals.
In all images, the beam is cut at the lower edge. Since the same happens
in the PDF version of the manual, this is not related to the conversion to
PNG.
Does this deserve low priority?
