Trying to produce (hopefully useful) debug output for this bug, I came up
with this:
lilypond -dbackend=eps guile-debugger.ly s1.ly s2.ly << EOF >& bug-trace
(set-trace-subtree! fret-diagram-terse-markup)
(quit)
EOF
