Creating audio is not the task of lilypond; that is the job of other
projects. You already mentioned timidity; there's also Vivi (for string
music), festival (for singing synthesis), and other projects could arise
and function in a similar way.
I have no objection to adding suggestions to LSR or the wiki, or possibly
even to the official documentation somewhere, but let's be clear: this is
not the job of lilypond.
