Given the very limited range of this patch (it does not affect
functionality unless you try using previously unavailable behavior) and
that it is a regression fix, I have no qualms pushing it as
cf8be9ab0b6c3bd56fe17f001ee74e3c9c774031. It can't really break things
that have not been broken before, anyway. Given the copy-and-rename nature
of our test suite, an actual regression test for this functionality would
be rather hard to concoct.
