The troublesome second parameter, how many dots to add, should be
deprecated because adding dots does not uniformly scale durations.
\displayLilyMusic \shiftDurations #1 #1 << { c'2. d'4 } r1 >> % 3/4 + 1/4
= r1
gives
<< { c'4.. d'8. } r2. >> % 7/16 + 3/16 not= 3/4
