As a first step to verifying this I tried Phil's tiny example with 2.14.2
in order to witness the failing behaviour. I was surprised to see that the
lyrics don't collide with the bar lines, see attached.
I tried with 2.15.20 to verify that the lyrics don't collide with the bar
lines, and they don't.
