Looking over this, it seems to me that this was about 80% 'there', I'm
happy to redo this patch, from a purely documental (?) POV, in that I don't
understand any of this technically but can be the go between for those that
find it easier to suggest stuff via email/reitveld comments than be
bothered with the texinfo/review process.
Let me know and I'll make a new patch and resubmit and we can go from there
