I think you're correct, Phil. I can see that Mike made a commit on Nov 24th
which matches up with the files in the Rietveld entry linked above.
Committish for that was aac3ab7edd4bdc311c352a6fe15628552de7d0e9 and here
is the commit log:
Defines some undefined grob properties, grob objects, and music
properties.
Undefined properties as well as properties without interfaces may
cause memory leaks in LilyPond. While this issue has to be investigated
further, defining these properties makes the code easier to read and may
lead to less memory leaks, which may in turn speed up batch processing
of .ly files (like the regtests).
Looks like Mike was doing some code tidying as he noticed it. It is in the
repo. Verified.
