Actually, the discussion seems to have ended. It is just that no consensus has been reached. That more or less means that the original submitter has to reread all the arguments carefully, think about them to the best of his conscience, make a decision considering _all_ given arguments, optimally give a reason for his decision, and propose a final patch (and "people don't agree anyway, so I just keep my original proposal as if no discussion has happened" does not suggest actually weighing the arguments).

Short of any _new_ arguments, there is no point in stopping the countdown then. It would be nice if we could always agree. But that's hypothetical.
