... seriously? You absolutely *must* have the \time signature? Remove a single tie ~ will make it work? Removing the left or right hand will make it work.
Hmm. If you're correct, then this is valuable information; it suggests there's a weird bit of memory corruption which only occurs in very rare circumstances.
