And that would seem like it would be a major problem with moving the engraver to a higher context: then it has no way of establishing per-voice note relations. It would appear that we first need to get the machinery into place that would make it possible to start slurs from _particular_ note heads (rather than a whole chord/notecolumn). Or we need a separate per-voice engraver that bothers about the slur end points separately.
